This is the sixth of ten teachings on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Brother Goodwin draws a clear distinction between saving faith, the fruit of faith, and the specific supernatural gift of faith. He gives examples of this gift of faith from the Bible.
Then he also shares fascinating testimonies of the healing of Mr. Stone, when the doctors expected him to die before the night was out. When first stricken, Mr. Stone--an unbeliever--said, "Call the doctor. And if the doctor won't come, call Brother and Sister Goodwin. I have more faith in their prayers than in all the doctors in the world."
My brothers and sisters that is exactly how we should be seen by the world--as the bringers of God's power and mercy. When there is no hope in the natural, there is still hope in God.
Brother Goodwin tells also of the healing of a baby through the Gift of Faith operating in Sister Goodwin. He tells also of one of their sons being delivered of smoking in response to the Gift of Faith operating in the Goodwins. He relates the testimony of John Osteen ministering to his sister through the Gift of Faith and how she was healed. Lastly also, he gives the testimony of how he and his wife had run out of food, and the Gift of Faith came into operation to produce food from an empty container. Such a testimony of miraculous provision coming from the lips of most Christians, would be a little bit suspect. But with the Goodwins operating so prolifically in spiritual gifts for so many years, and with there being no doubt that such operations did indeed occur, this testimony of the miraculous providing of food seems like the perfectly natural result of their powerful walk with God.
