New Book I Recommend: "Pentecostal Pioneers Remembered" by Keith Malcomson Here is a story long untold and mostly forgotten, of faith, power and glory. This book commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Pentecostal Movement in Great Britain & Ireland, 1907-2007. Herein is the story of the Men, the Movement, the Message and the Miracles that became known as the Pentecostal Movement. These testimonies are timeless, powerful and stirring but sadly most of these pioneers have long disappeared from the sight and remembrance of the church. I am reading this book by my friend across the waters, and it is a great blessing. It will fill in many gaps in your knowledge of Pentecostal Church History, and stir your soul. (I do not accept advertising on this website, so when I mention a book it is because I believe it to be a blessing).--Brother Mel To Order visit: Pentecostal Pioneers Website |

A Closing Word: Dear Ministry Partners and Friends, As subscribers to this newsletter know, one year ago the Lord gave me a prophecy on August 14, 2007 which I entitled "Time of Correction." In this prophecy the Lord said He was beginning to correct Charismatic leaders who preach extreme and unbiblical messages. Wow. Perhaps the last 12 months should be called the "Year of Collapse." We watched the lives, marriages, and ministries of Juanita Bynam, Thomas Weeks, and Randy and Paula White collapse. Their extreme hyper-everything teachings led only to defeat, disgrace, and divorce. A few weeks later we observed the financial collapse of ORU, under the leadership of Hyper-Prosperity preachers who sat on the Board of Regents. ORU collapsed under the weight of $53 million in debt into the arms of a Christian buisnessman who pumped in $70 million to keep the doors open. Thus the Lord exposed the emptiness of the Hyper-Prosperity Message. Now what do our gaping eyes behold? The collapse of the Lakeland Revial amid revelations of adultery, alcohol, and attempts to hush up the problems and keep them from becoming public knowledge. The Lord revealed through the Lakeland Revival that the Apostolic and Prophetic Movements consisted of just more errors, extreme teachings, fleshly agendas, manipulations of men, greed for money, inflated egos, and indifference to the truth. Christians are reeling from these and other shocks. But I urge everyone to be encouraged by this thought: the Lord revealed in advance that these kinds of things were coming. He is correcting our extreme teachings, and the leaders who teach them. And He is not finished. We have prayed for Revival and God is answering our prayers. John the Baptist told us what must occur before the Lord manifests Himself in great power as we are asking Him to do. John said, "Make the crooked ways straight." So God is straightening our crooked ways, bringing hidden things to light, cleansing us of our sin, correcting us of our extreme teachings, and chastising us. It is painful. The Bible says that the chastening of the Lord is painful, but it also gives a promise of what follows once His chastisement has ended: No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (Heb. 12:11).
After the discipline, chastisement, and correction of the Lord runs its course, we are promised a "harvest of righteousness and peace" if we will allow ourselves to be "trained" by the correction of the Spirit. The only question that remains is will you and I be among those who repent and receive God's correction, or will we be among those who refuse to change and have to be set aside by the Lord? As for me, we are walking tenderly and carefully with the Lord, and receiving His correction in every way that we recognize it. And we are looking fervently for the hope of His promise--a greater manifestation of His Spirit as He finds His place again in our hearts and churches that have been swept clean of the errors and arrogancy that have taken us over. Kind Regards, Brother Mel PS: September 2nd is my spiritual birthday. It was 28 years ago in 1980 that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I give praise and honor to my Savior for seeing me through these 28 years. He is Faithful and True, and He never leaves us nor forsakes us. |
