Introduction
This website is not a memorial to the past. I thank God for the past. But Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The purpose of this site is to use the scriptures and the revivals and great ministries of the past to understand, discern, and enter into the things God is doing in our generation.
God is still moving prophetically, and within the last few days we have experienced a manifestation of the Spirit of Prophecy.
Prophecy
As noted in last month's newsletter and article, the Spirit of Prophecy came upon me the night of August 14, 2007. I wrote down the prophecy and asked several seasoned ministers of the Gospel, including a nationally known prophet, to judge the word. All agreed it was a genuine word from the Lord, and that it was for the Body of Christ as a whole. So I posted it on the website August 15th, and sent copies of it out to those of you on my e-mail list.
The prophecy was as follows:
"A Time of Correction" August 14, 2007
Dream
A few weeks back, the Lord had given me a dream which left no doubt no doubt that the Lord expected me to speak up about the extreme messages that are being preached on far too many Charismatic TV programs, and in some Word of Faith and Prophetic Circles. I set my heart to obey the Lord. The dream was as follows:
Although I had committed to obeying the Lord, little did I realize that certain events were about to occur on the national scene about which I would deem it necessary to write.
New Article
Charisma Magazine has reported that on August 21st--a week to the day after the August 14th word of prophecy--the word of the Lord began to be fulfilled on the national scene when the lives and ministries of four prominent Charismatic leaders imploded. With grief and anguish, and with tough love, I have written of these downfalls, what caused them, and what we need to do now. Here is my article:
Responses
A total of four people have abruptly asked to be taken off our e-mail list evidently in response to the prophecy, it's fulfillment, and my article acknowledging this fact. (When God moves, not everybody is happy about it). I received one critical e-mail. But I've received a number of supportive e-mails from fellow ministers and from those on our e-mail list basically saying, "thank God somebody is speaking out. Keep going, Brother Mel!" I am thankful for the many kind words.
While I have no desire to be controversial, or critical of my brethren, I intend to continue comparing with scripture current Word of Faith and Charismatic teachings and ministry practices. In some areas we measure up, and in others we don't. We may as well just admit it, repent, and return to scripture soundness and to the genuine leading of the Holy Spirit.
