The Goodwins Ministering at

Christ For the Nations Institute

Dallas, Texas

"January 12, 1971 Part I"

With Rev. and Mrs. J.R. Goodwin.

(Click on title above to hear recording)

Recording Description:

Brother Goodwin gives some instructions on checking or judging the work of the Spirit.  He defines the gift of the discerning of spirits, and teaches on this gift.  Then he turns the service over to his wife.

Sister Goodwin admits with great frankness that the kind of spiritual ministry she and her husband had was a difficult one.  She could discern the presence of evil spirits in the lives of various people she came around, and likewise, such spirits in those people would know that she could sense them.  She had many experiences where people under the influence of evil spirits, would act normal until the person got in close proximity to her, and then they would abruptly and inexplicably treat her very discourteously.  Such treatment eventually took its toll on her.  She tells how she shared this downside of spiritual ministry with Kenneth Hagin.  He was used in a manner similar to the Goodwins and had also experienced such inexplicable treatment.  She shares with us how his advice helped her.

Then the rest of this message, with the Goodwins ministering to individuals, is continued in Part II.
